WireLess Connection Issues

Good afternoon Folks..

I recently purchased a HP 11Mbps WIRELESS PCMCIA LAN CARD HN220W, a HP WIRELESS ROUTER 4-PORT HN200W and a HP ze5170 Notebook Computer.

I have hooked up my other WIRE computers to the router, and all seems fine (can surf the net, etc.) however, the wireless on my laptop will not see it..
I am running Windows XP Home addition.
If I put the network cable into the back of the laptop, I can gain access to the net, and other computers, but just not the wireless connection.
The instructions stated, all you had to do, was hook up the router (which obviously is done :) ), and insert your wireless nic card, and reboot.. and let windows xp find and install it (which it did)..

But it just says it is unplugged or something like that with a red X through it.
I have tried everything to get this to work.
But it will not recognize it..
The lights on it, do come on, and windows does see if if I remove the card from the pcmcia slot, and insert it again (foudn new hardware), but that's it..

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.
