wireless usb adapter problems!
I need help! Out of the blue, I am unable to SEND emails-no problems with receiving- on my desktop and my wireless connection is sooo slow. sometimes takes 3-4 tries before I can open my browser (I.E.) The other computer (the one connected directly to the Compaq Connection Point Router) is working fine-email will send and receive. The desktop with the 11Mbps Wireless USB Adapter is the problem. I have ruled out my internet provider as the problem (Road Runner). They tell me that it is the adapter, but of coarse they can't help with another companies product. Does anyone have any ideas? This is the first time in 2 years that I've had a problem with this. I have tried downloading and reinstalling the drivers for the wireless router. I really have no idea what to do--PLEASE HELP!!!

Re: wireless usb adapter problems!
Hey Lisa,
I'm not familiar with your routers and card product numbers - BUT, if everything has been running good up until now, and you've re-installed all software (problems from a recent computer crash). Then that would leave only one thing.
The Transmitter in your PCI/USB Wifi card, may have Stopped transmitting at full power. This would explain the poor 'sending'. Can you swap/try a different WiFi card in the PC ?

Re: wireless usb adapter problems!
802.11b/g run on 2.4 GHZ, right in the dead center of Microwave ovens and newer cordless telephones. if someone in your neighbordhood has just bought a new Xmillion watt oven or a 2.4ghz cordless telephone with a 10 mile range this could explain your problems.
There have been Innumerable people who have helped me. Of course, I've managed to piss most of them off.
