Wireless XL module using Radio Port 230, data throuput slow
Hello,
Hope somebody can help me out there, we have just been implementing a new wireless network using the wireless xl services module and the radio port 230.
The clients we are using are a HP Compaq 6710b running a built in intel wireless chipset.
The problem is the data throughput is shocking (any where from 4k's to 200 at absolute best)
When we tested this on an older HP we get normal speeds of about 1meg. We then thought it must be a driver/client configuration issue.
So we tested several other wireless sand also a macbook pro. Interesting enough when the mac book is using mac OS the throughput is about 200k's when booted into windows its about 4 to 30k's. The other cards including the cisco have the same problem.
Things we have checked are interference (had only 1 radio port going), firmware versions are all the lattest, we have backdated drivers,
tried turning off security, nothing has helped.
If any body has had experience or implemented the 230's your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark

Re: Wireless XL module using Radio Port 230, data throuput slow
Are the radioports updated to the latest bootcode? This happens automaticly in a L2 environment. In L3 environment I'm not sure.
Do you have more info on the setup?
Ofcourse you also can call ProCurve support for assistance.

Re: Wireless XL module using Radio Port 230, data throuput slow
Fount out its a firmware issue with 2.07 can't believe nobody else is having the problem, we backdated our firmware to 1.x and it all working very well, it may be something to do with the supported packet size as if you install a juniper i.p enhancer or hp vpn client it works as normal.
Good thing we don't use any of the features in 2.07 hey HP!
