SolutionHi,
in general I would recommend to go through the HPE Support process to get structured analysis, but to get you some ideas:
* make sure you have an recent ilo firmware version installed
* PIN based (the short version of an acvtivation key) activation is possible with ilo5 version 3.09
* make sure ilo has internet access AND DNS resolution capabilty (if you use direct access connection
* make sure you have at least Operatore Role in the platform also
* have a look into the ilo event log
* check if the device is defined in the platform or set it up manually via Product and Serial ID
* follow the ln the page linked getting started guide.
* work with HPE Support for analyzing
Hope this helps
Regards
Stephan

Re: ilo failded to connect with hpe greenlake compute ops management
Please ensure you have upgraded to the latest iLO5 version 3.09 otherwise you will not be able to activate your connection.
There is a "?" in the upper-right and you may open a support case for COM connectivity in addition to the advice that Stephan has offered.

Re: ilo failded to connect with hpe greenlake compute ops management
The new onboarding process with the short activation key automatically adds the device productID/SN to GLP workspace devices (and can assign the subscription key once that is loaded). Unless for some reason that hardware was accidentally skipped in our factory data transfer. That takes a support case to fix.
