3C17206 - 3Com Switch 4400 SE 24-Port Software Upgrade Failed Incompatible Image

Hi,

 

I downloaded the latest software version for the 3C17206 Switch (s3m06_13p01s) and set up my TFTP server correctly etc...

 

However when I initialize the software upgrade in the cli of the switch I get the upgrading......... notification followed by the message "Upgrade failed incompatable image".

 

I have tried different versions of the software (s3m06_13p01, s3m06_13s, s3m06_13) but to no avaiI, I receive the same message for all the versions. 

 

I am 100% sure the switch is a 3C17206 - 3Com Switch 4400 SE 24-Port.

 

I would greatly appreciate any helpl on this matter.

Hi,

Ran in to the same problem. Solving it was easy. I started wit updating every last firmware from each version.

First to 3.40 => 4.51 => 5.12 (Don't use the s version) => 6.13 (again not the s version).

Now it run's the latets 6.13s (even i didn't download the s version of the firmware.
