5940 4slot switch - how many psu's required?
Hi we have a 5940 4-slot currently with 2 650w psu's installed. We also have two 5930 24p SFP+ and 2p QSFP+ Mod JH180A installed.
How can I tell if the power is n+1 ? If one psu failed, would a single psu hold the chassis? Is there a CLI command or snmp mib entry to confirm it is running with n+1 power?
If we were to install another 5930 24p SFP+ and 2p QSFP+ Mod JH180A, would we need additional psu's ?
Thanks.

Re: 5940 4slot switch - how many psu's required?
With regard to minimum power supplies requiresd...the HPE 5940 4 slots switch model (which has SKU equal to JH398A) the requirement is: 4 power supply slots, 2 minimum power supplies required (to be ordered separately)...on other HPE 5940 switch models the requirement is clearly less heavy: 2 power supply slots, 1 minimum power supply required (to be ordered separately).

Power supplies can work in 1+1 redundant mode and support load sharing.

Re: 5940 4slot switch - how many psu's required?
Thanks parnassus,
so a JH398A with two psu's and only two JH180A, will the psu's be working as n+1?
If we add one more JH180A, will we need more psu's to maintain n+1 ?
Are there any documents on power requirements as I cant find any?
Thanks.
