DAC Cable to HP 2920
Hello,
Is there a DAC cable to go from HP 2920(with SFP+ expansion module) to HP A5800(JC103a)
I know it never used to be supported but was something HP was working on
Thanks
Robbie

Re: DAC Cable to HP 2920
Probably (read this) you should go with one of these (see QuickSpecs) to fulfill requirements [*] on the Aruba side:
- HPE X242 10G SFP+ to SFP+ 1m Direct Attach Copper Cable J9281B
- HPE X242 10G SFP+ to SFP+ 3m Direct Attach Copper Cable J9283B
- HPE X242 10G SFP+ to SFP+ 7m Direct Attach Copper Cable J9285B
and then, on Comware side, you would just use this command (transceiver phony-alarm-disable) if the Switch doesn't recognize properly the HPE X242 SFP+ DAC on its side.
[*] I've to say that actually, with recent ArubaOS-Switch releases (16.02 branch onward), there is a command to overcome the 3rd party transceivers - as they can be categorized, so unsupported - "not recognized as genuine" issue...so the discussion I linked could be not true anymore now.
The contrary could be true too: using supported SFP+ DAC Cables on Comware side and then, on ArubaOS-Switch side, use the provided command to admit the usage of non HP genuine Transceivers as the HPE X242 FlexNetwork DAC Cables will be seen by the Aruba switch:
- HPE FlexNetwork X240 10G SFP+ to SFP+ 0.65m Direct Attach Copper Cable JD095C
- HPE FlexNetwork X240 10G SFP+ to SFP+ 1.2m Direct Attach Copper Cable JD096C
- HPE FlexNetwork X240 10G SFP+ to SFP+ 3m Direct Attach Copper Cable JD097C
- HPE FlexNetwork X240 10G SFP+ to SFP+ 5m Direct Attach Copper Cable JG081C
I'm not an HPE Employee
