Fans errors on four 5130-48G-PoE+-4SFP+ JG937A

Hello,

I don't find anything on this subject.

We have 5 switches in Stack and on Four we have one fan state failed.

and when we use display device manuinfo we have these message on all switches :

Fan 1:
The operation is not supported on the specified fan.
Fan 2:
The operation is not supported on the specified fan.
Fan 3:
The operation is not supported on the specified fan.
Fan 4:
The operation is not supported on the specified fan.
Power 1:
The operation is not supported on the specified power.
Power 2:
The operation is not supported on the specified power.

Really strange but not totally impossible: four fans faulted at the same time - one fan on each IRF member - on a five members IRF...it can happens.

WRT Software bug...the version your IRF is running on is about a little bit more than 3 Years old and various R31xx and R32xx were released since then...so, to understand if display device manuinfo fan gives you incorrect outputs, a way would be to upgrade to latest R31xx or R32xx...given that Fans on your model were designed to provide such info (with S/N and SKU, as example) once invoked by that command.

Hi,

This doesn't seem to be a bug in software.

Your device is running on very old software and it is always advised to upgrade to the latest firmware.

WRT the error, kindly follow below link to troubleshoot the fan tray failure and if still issue remians then kindly log a case with support.
