Hi,
we need to set the speed of a few 1Gbit SFP Ports (Solid Optics JD089B-SO RJ-45) to 100Mbit because of compatibility issues.
[CORESWITCH-Ten-GigabitEthernet1/0/14]speed 100
The operation is not supported.
What does the message mean? The Module does support 10/100/1000 speed
System Info of the switch:
Hardware: Ver.B
Boot ROM: 234
Software: 7.1.070 Release 2612P01
best regards,

Re: FlexFabric 5710 Interface "speed 100" -> the operation is not supported
In any case I really doubt any speed below 1000Mbps (1Gbps) will be permitted on any SFP Transceiver installed into a SFP+ Slot (10Gbps)...

Re: FlexFabric 5710 Interface "speed 100" -> the operation is not supported
Hi,
on the modules itself is written 10/100/1000Mbit, so i think it must be supported. The Message "the operation is not supported" I receive also on a free SFP-Slot with command "speed 100". Maybe there is another generally configuration parameter to permit speed below 1Gbit?

SolutionFlexFabric 5710 does not support 100M; only 1GbE and up:
Notation: High 1/10GbE wirespeed ports with 40GbE and 100GbE uplinks

Re: FlexFabric 5710 Interface "speed 100" -> the operation is not supported
too bad, we have a few (important) 100Mbit hosts, in this case we have to use another switch (uplink) for them
best regards
