HPE5710 questions regarding possible 40G port splitting
Hi,
I am looking at HPE 5710 48XGT 6QSFP+/2QSFP28 Switch (JL586A) for a use case. We need lots of 10GBase-T ports, and 8 (or more) 10G LC-LC optics per switch.
Can we take JG709A (HPE X140 40G QSFP+ CSR4 300m Transceiver) or JG325B (HPE X140 40G QSFP+ MPO SR4 Transceiver) and a MPO to 4xLC-LC cable to get 10G LC-LC optic (multi-mode fiber) connections to other vendor switches?

Re: HPE5710 questions regarding possible 40G port splitting
Gcombaj,
Yes. Both of those transceivers supports the MPO splitter cable to go 4 x 10G legs. They are industry standard and should interoperate fine with another vendors device.
Comware is a bit picky about transceivers so you should use these on the Comware switches and a compatible transceiver at the other end.
Here is a document that might help... https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c05324768
