Re: IRF Mode Issue
Hello Muthukumar1,
You may check the restrictions and further information about the setup on the following link:
When you select IRF physical interfaces, follow these restrictions and guidelines:
You can use physical interfaces from the modules in Table 2 for IRF links on a member device.
Table 2: Candidate IRF physical interfaces
Module
Candidate IRF physical interfaces
SAP-4EXP(JG366A)
The four 10GBASE-R/W ports.
FIP-240(JH137A)
The two GE ports.
FIP-300(JG671A)
The 12 GE ports.
FIP-310(JG672A)
The four GE ports and the two 10GBASE-R/W ports.
SAP-20GE2XP(JH139A)
The four GE ports with the highest port numbers and the two 10GBASE-R/W ports.
SAP-28GE(JH138A)
The 12 GE ports with the highest port numbers.
If you use ports on the SAP-4EXP(JG366A) module for IRF links on one device, you cannot use ports on other modules as IRF physical interfaces on the neighboring member device. If you do not use ports on the SAP-4EXP(JG366A) module for IRF links on one device, you cannot use ports on the SAP-4EXP(JG366A) module as IRF physical interfaces on the neighboring member device.
If the device contains a FIP-600(JG360A) module, you can use only the physical interfaces on the SAP-4EXP(JG366A) module for IRF links.
All IRF physical interfaces bound to an IRF port must belong to the same service module and operate at the same rate. The two ends of an IRF link must also operate at the same rate.
Hope this helps!

Re: IRF Mode Issue
Hello Muthukumar1,
Did you bind both physical ports to one IRF logical port on same on the another IRF port of the remote router?
Binding physical interfaces to IRF ports
To establish an IRF connection between two devices, you must bind a minimum of one physical
interface to IRF-port 1 on one device and to IRF-port 2 on the other.
As it is pointed in the prevois document I shared:

Re: IRF Mode Issue
Hi Team,
Here two slots, now i am taking irf ports from each slots. for ex..
Router1:
Slot 2---One tengi
slot 3---one tengi
Router2:
Slot 2---One tengi
slot 3---one tengi
chassis before convert the IRF mode, configuraion has taken irfport 1 and 2 but after convert the irf mode only has taken irf-port1 not 2. Even two interfaace configured for IRF-port after reboot one interface only taken for IRF..

On router 2 irf port 2 assign both port from the two modules 2 and 3
Hope this helps!

Re: IRF Mode Issue
Hi team,
This configuraion taken but chassis after convert the irf mode, only one port taken. Opened the ticket for Tac team also and just now got the ack. from them. As per them try to both physical interfaces under same slot not diferent slot. But we wants the irf port from difeerent slots. Sameting is working in HPE switch 5945 but challengin gon HPE 6802 router. Could you cross check once again and updae on this..

SolutionHello Muthukumar1,
This restriction I saw in the previous link I sent to you that the physical ports should be on the same service module:
Page:
IRF physical interface requirements
All IRF physical interfaces bound to an IRF port must belong to the same service module and operate at the same rate. The two ends of an IRF link must also operate at the same rate.
Also it si written on the full manual vitrual technologies p.10:
https://internal.support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=c04698869
All IRF physical interfaces bound to an IRF port must belong to the same service module and operate at the same rate. The two ends of an IRF link must also operate at the same rate.
You may confirm if this is the limitation you are hitting as you have opened a case already.
Hope this helps!

Re: IRF Mode Issue
Hi team,
Yes, after configred all irf ports in same slots then started working fine. Thanks for your suggestion.
