JG934A Upgrade

Hi there,

I got an JG934A / HPE 5130 48G 4SFP+ EI Switch with:

- Hw. Rev. B

- Boot ROM: 147
- Software: 7.1.070 Release 3506-US

If I click on https://h10145.www1.hpe.com/downloads/SoftwareReleases.aspx?ProductNumber=JG934A - there a re 4 Current Releases and 6 Patches. I want to upgrade to the latest software version for my hardware for security reasons. Which is the correct download - and why are there so many releases/patches shown as current?

Hi! since your JG934A (HPE 5130 48G 4SFP+ EI Switch) is currently running on R3506 US (GA) of 20 September 2019, you should/would/could update to latest patch release R3506P08 US (21 September 2020).

In this document you will find the (recommended/minimum) software versions for Comware OS suggested to run by HPE, updated August 2020, and related to particular HPE Switch families: for HPE 5130 EI you shouldn't use anything lower than patch release R3506P02 (considering you're working with R35 software branch).
