MIB variable to verify that a port of a switch is

By applying Zabbix, we want to verify that a port of a switch is functioning properly?

There are some variables in a MIB OID specific 3COM, to do this, if you are so kind to provide this information, because we tested the variables of the MIB2 interfaces, but we are not sure that is correct.
