Procurve 2610 - Mac Based Authentication - Missing Mac Address from Client
Hello,
we have a mac-based authentication running on our 2610 procurve switches (firmware 11.72).
It works well but we have 6 label printers which cause problems. If i reboot the label printer, it doesn't seem to publish it's mac address to the 2600 switch. I can see in the switch cli, that the interface is up, but there is no mac address listened within the result of the command "show mac-address". So the port isn't authenticated. It's also not unauthenticated. The switch seems to not know that there is a client connected. I think this occurs because the label printer doesn't send any traffic so the switch isn't able to learn the mac. So is there a way to force the switch to learn the mac? Without the mac the port is closed and i can't communicate with the label printer.
Best regards
Sven
