Promote IRF Member to Master
Hi,
Just wondering what the best method is for promoting a stack member to become the master within an IRF stack. The current master has a defective Mgt interface so we would like to manage via one of the other stack members.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Re: Promote IRF Member to Master
The only way to change the master is to reboot the master.
After the reboot the stanby will become master.

Re: Promote IRF Member to Master
AttDan,
Not sure what switch you have but there is typically 1 Network Management port in an IRF configuration. It doesn't matter which switch you plug it into.
