"Link state tracking" - feature.

Hi,

I'm migrating from Cisco to HP on some access switches. In the Cisco-IOS environment, i use the "link state tracking" feature (shutting downlinks when uplinks vanish) viz.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3560/software/release/12.2_52_se/configuration/guide/swethchl.html#wp1376466

Is there a similar feature on comware 7? I use the HP5900AF series switches (V 7.1.035, R2210)

Regards

Hello,

are you sure smartlink is supported on the 5900AF  platform?

Re: "Link state tracking" - feature.

Hello,

I checked the about configuration guide and high availability guide and it does not seem to be supported. Or at least

it is not documented which I think is kind of strange because you have comware 7.1. My comware  5.20 5800-24G do support it:

[switch-01]smart-link ?
  group Specify group

What happens when you press smart-link ? in system-view?

Cheers,

     Thomas

Re: "Link state tracking" - feature.

Hello again,

[switch]smart-link ?
           ^
% Unrecognized command found at '^' position.

So i guess its not supported, at least not in terms of that command.

Re: "Link state tracking" - feature.

I think this feature is "monitor-link".
When 1/0/1 become down, 1/0/2 and 1/0/3 is logically down.

monitor-link group 1
port Ten-GigabitEthernet 1/0/1 uplink
port Ten-GigabitEthernet 1/0/2 downlink
port Ten-GigabitEthernet 1/0/3 downlink
