STP Topology Changes causing performance issues - MAC entries being inmediately removed
Hi! We are troubleshooting a LAN with more than 70 HP Comware 5 (and 7) switches with frequent topology changes causing performance issues.
Hypothesis is: 1) Topology Change happen. 2) Every TC cause some or lots of MAC entries being removed from MAC tables. 3) Traffic directed to deleted MAC addresses is flooded to all interfaces (unicast-unkown) and causing general flooding and issues.
Other vendors say that TCs cause aging time of MAC entries to be set to 15 seconds. I don´t find that information in HP documentation, but what we observe is that there are MAC entries being deleted in less than 2 seconds, which we do not understand. And it´s not helping.

We do not understand why MAC entries removal is so quick. We do not understand why not all MAC entries are removed a the same time. Instead, they disappear "randomly", some of them in less than 1 second and others after a good amount of seconds.
Any idea? Any documentation?

Re: STP Topology Changes causing performance issues - MAC entries being inmediately removed
Hi Joe,
Did you configure edge port feature on all non-uplink ports.
Also paste the STP related configuration here from the device.
