8760 AP upgrade question
Hello,
We have a client that wants to implement a WiFi solution in two phases. In the first phase, he wants to install 8 3Com access points (3CRWE876075) in autonomous mode (FAT mode). And in the second phase He wants to install a Wireless LAN Controller (3CRWX220095A). For this reason, in the second phase, We'll have to migrate the access points to managed mode (FIT mode).
In this link: http://support.3com.com/documents/wireless/3CRWE876075/10016454_Rev.AA_readme.pdf, I've read that the 3Com Wireless LAN Switch Manager software (3WXM) is a requirement to upgrade de access points to FIT mode. I thought that the 3WXM "only" provides site planning tools and an enhanced control of RF environment.
Do I need the 3WXM software to upgrade the 3CRWE876075 to fit mode?
Thanks in advance,

Re: 8760 AP upgrade question
Not at all, WXM is for managing WX. Anyway, it is a great tool, test it and You will like it, there is a 30 day's demo.

Re: 8760 AP upgrade question
Hi C.Fuente,
You do not need the WXM to do it.
I have done this upgrade (FAT ---> FIT) using just the Webview from the AP8760 following the procedure below.
