Unable to manage AP9552 with WX3008
I changed the AP9552 from FAT to FIT.
Ever since then, it keeps rebooting.
On the WX3008 console I keep promping saying it cannot find the file wa2600A_fit.bin.
If I run DIR I can see a wa2600_fit.bin but no wa2600A_fit.bin.
I also read the KB article #594 stating you need to run display version on the AP...but how the heck am I suppose to run a command on an AP that keeps rebooting???
so...3com...can your forums be more helpful than your KBs?

Re: Unable to manage AP9552 with WX3008
Hi Yulman
I have the same problem.
The wa2600A_fit.bin is actualy on the AP itself or you can download it from 3com web site.
I grabbed the file from the AP as follows
Connect a console cable to the AP
Connect a network cable to the AP and make sure it has an IP address
Run an FTP server on your PC or Laptop (3Com FTP deamon is fine for this)
Login to the AP and connect to your FTP server (FTP IP address
Use "put
You have to do the reverse on the WX3008 but instead of using "put
I have another issue, how do you enable the POE on the WX3008?
Let me know if my instructions aren't clear enough

Re: Unable to manage AP9552 with WX3008
Thanks for the info.
But I can't even log on to my AP as it keeps rebooting before granting me access to the console.
I also can't find the file on 3com's web site...any suggestions??
To enable the POE on your WX3008 you have to log to the "switch" console of your device.
Once logged in theWX3008 web management, click on "Switch Engine*"
Or you can connect your laptop to the switch and go to http://192.168.0.101.
From there you will find the POE menu easily.

Re: Unable to manage AP9552 with WX3008
Well...I finally found the file...I uploaded to the device...and now...more **** from 3com!!!!
If I type "dir" it finds nothing, if I type "undelete" it says the recycling bin is empty...
Now, I'm trying to reboot the WX3008 and it says "Specified boot file does not exist"
So I'm trying to find a way to create/download a main.cfg file...guess what? 3com ask you to pay for upgrade!
Can someone at 3com explain to me how you can make such a poor product???????
Product is far from working out of the box, documentation is not clear at all...when documentation is available. Then KB's are not helping at all, plus no firmware available anywhere...
So what's the deal here? Seriously, last time I purchase any 3com/HP product!

Re: Unable to manage AP9552 with WX3008
Hi Yulman thanks for the info
I got there in the end, the ip address for the switch is hardcoded in the web page so had to set laptop to correct ip.
I have done another upgrade on my 9550 an this seems to have fixed the issue.
It's kind of in a round about way, I followed the instructions from an upgrade Video.
Since the upgrade it hasn't rebooted once.
Took me a wile to find it, I more or less stumbled accros it.
go to the following URL, you will have to register if you haven't already done so.
http://selfservice.3com.com/knowledge/
and search for 9550 fat to fit
This will get you to
H3C Wireless Switch - Step by Step Video example of AP9150 or AP9550 FAT to FIT conversion
