WX3000-Linux and MAC OS X - wrong vlan

Hi,

I have two WX3024 with 2612 APs. The configurgation is that the ap's boot on VLAN 1 and get their ip lease from the WX3000 internal DHCP server and the wireless SSID is binding to VLAN 5 and should get their DHCP from our company dhcp server.

All clients (Andriod,IOS and Windows) seem to connect corretly to the DHCP on VLAN 5. However several of our users who use Linux and MAC OS X (under the hood this is linux too) are getting connected to the SSID and getting the local WX3000 assigned address.

HP support are got me to change the default bind to vlan 5 but we are still getting DHCP from the WX3000.

I would appreciate any suggestions?

Re: WX3000-Linux and MAC OS X - wrong vlan

So If I have this correct : Your VLan 1 is used for the AP's and You are using a seperate  DHCP server for the clients

Not sure what you mean here :

However several of our users who use Linux and MAC OS X (under the hood this is linux too) are getting connected to the SSID and getting the local WX3000 assigned address.

You are sending wireless traffic over a vlan and getting the wrong DHCP server ?

Sounds like on the wireless interface  you assigned the DHCP server on the VLAN maybe ?

Check the interface and see where the client traffic is being sent . Somehow its being given a DHCP address via the wireless interface pointing to the dhcp server .

Re: WX3000-Linux and MAC OS X - wrong vlan

Sorry

The linux clients are getting the IP address from the WX3000 DHCP (192.168.2.x on vlan1) as opposed to the company DHCP (173.120.1.x on vlan5)

Vlan5 is bound to the SSID

I'll check the traffic and comeback to you

Thanks for you feedback
