2 disk failed in one mirror group of raid10
Hi everyone
It's ma first time here, I have a strange problem , my hp server with p410 controller is reporting that
my two disks are failed in this same mirror group but the array is working and system also is working which
is odd because in this scenario the whole array should failed .
Here is some output from hpacucli :

Also I noticed that smartctl not reporting anything for this two failed disk, it's look like this
disk dissapeared for smart monitor (smartctl) - but disk could not phisically failed because
the system is working.
Some idea here .. ?

Re: 2 disk failed in one mirror group of raid10
It is a bit strange, since the document http://h20195.www2.hp.com/V2/GetPDF.aspx%2F4AA4-7979ENW.pdf is showing this:
If this is really the case, the data would be corrupted.
But the status is interim recovery, so it looks like group1 is mirrored to group2?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: 2 disk failed in one mirror group of raid10
Meanwhile I found something different that tells the "low ID drives" are striped together and the "high ID drives" are striped together, then the groups are mirrored. This would mean group 0 is mirrored to group 1 - this may explain why the system is still working.
Maybe someone can confirm ...
[edit]
this was regarding RAID 0+1, not RAID 1+0, sorry
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: 2 disk failed in one mirror group of raid10
Maybe i misunderstand sth , but if two drives are stripped and second pair of drives are stripped and this is mirrored then we talk about raid 01 not raid 10
