Re: BL870c i2 mirrored disk monitor

Hi,

I am not very sure about the exact syntax but "sasmgr" will do the required.

I hope the OS is Unix.

Below is the syntax, you need to check the man page and may need to add some more options like "status" etc

sasmgr get_info -D /dev/sasd1

If it is a windos machine, I hope ACU would help you to get the status.

Problems will be reported in syslog.

You can also monitor with sasmgr, SMH and HP SIM.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: BL870c i2 mirrored disk monitor

The Opaerting System is not specified here, but just in case this bl870c i2 runs Windows 2008, the WBEM providers will log error messages in the Windows system event log for issues with the disk subsystem (and for many other system components)

Re: BL870c i2 mirrored disk monitor

My real question in iLO3(BL860c i2) or BladeSystem c7000 Onboard Administrator has any option to monitor hard drive fail.
HP-UX v3 has an option to monitor.

Thanks for everyone

Re: BL870c i2 mirrored disk monitor

Hi ,

the iLO-3 itself and the OA don't have a way to know when something is wrong with a hard disk connected to a controller inside a blade server, you really need the OS specific management s/w to monitor that kind of component.

Hope this answers your question.
