CommandView Upgrade...
I have an EVA 3000 which is under current support. It is currently running CV 6 and I would like to move it to CV7. What do I need to do in order to convert the existing license to a CV 7 license?

Re: CommandView Upgrade...
Hi There,
As I guess you know ?? your existing licences will not be valid with CV7. Therefore you will need to get your licences "sorted out" by going to:
https://webware.hp.com/welcome.asp
NOTE: With CV7 and above you will also require a Command View licence as well, equal to or greater than the total TB's of storage you already have. EG 21.5TB total storage = 22TB CV licence or unlimited.
If you do convert to CV7 prior to sorting out your licences then you will have 180 days instance/unlimited CV/BC/CA. Once your time is up you will not be able to create vdisks, snapshots, snapclones etc [but "delete" will still work !] until you have installed your new licences.
CV8 has 60 days unlimited.
Good luck.

Re: CommandView Upgrade...
Yes, I am aware of the license changes between 6 and 7. I guess my question is more in terms of process.
I know what when I register a CV7 license I need to generate a new key do I need to do generate a new key when going from 6 to 7? Do I need to migrate the key? What information do I need to actually do the upgrade (Sales Order ? ) etc.

Re: CommandView Upgrade...
Hi,
Take a look at the following site, if you haven't already:
http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storage/software/cmdvieweva/licensing.html
If you have a support contract, then you should have received the licences in the mail...
Cheers,
Rob
