DL385 "Dell VIRTUAL DISK SCSI Disk Device"

I have an HP server that has a Dell VIRTUAL DISK SCSI Disk Device setup on it and is using the SAS 6/IR controller. I find this weird since those are dell products. We have had a few failed disks in the past 2 weeks and would like a gui to look at. Can the array be managed with any kind of array manager? Will Dells openmanage support this? I don't know why it was installed like this and have found nothing on the internet of anyone else doing it. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I guess somebody on your site installed this foreign software instead of the proliant support pack. Check this from the software control panel.

I don't see any software installed. The storage controller is the SAS 6/IR controller and the disk array reads as a "Dell VIRTUAL DISK SCSI DISK DEVICE". Currently there is no software on the server that will allow us to look at the array.

Will this affect anything? This is our Active Directory server and can't afford an outage at this time.

I guess im also still confused on why in device manager it would say we are using a SAS 6/IR controller and a Dell virtual disk. Will the support pack fix this?
