Drive Enclosure
Hi:
I have a question: I can use a HP StorageWorks M5314C FC Drive Enclosure - storage enclosure Without a EVA? Like a SAN?
Manage it from own site, if it have a own system?
I can connect to an FC SAN SWCH 2/8 Part # 322120-B21 from there to connect to my LAN and shared HARD DISk Like a SAN?

Re: Drive Enclosure
No, I have not done this question before.
The detail I want to buy a box "HP StorageWorks M5314C FC Drive Enclosure - storage enclosure" and not the EVA so I wanted to know if EVA is used without the physicians to share these on my servers.
With this I guess I need the EVA rigorously.?

Re: Drive Enclosure
To wrap up, this is really nothing for production, but sounds like a lot of fun for someone with enough spare time. :)

Sebastian

Re: Drive Enclosure
In a normal configuration the EVA controller manage the disk enclosure (e.g. the addressing, the EMU, the cut through switch, etc). Without the functionality of the HSV controller you cannot control these things (e.g. addressing, bypass, un-bypass, etc).
Somebody already tested this without luck:
