DS2400 + 36GB Strangeness
Disk with issues: HP 36.4GST336753FC
The diskinfo command shows some interesting stuff on the 2 different
drives:
diskinfo /dev/rdsk/c25d9t0
SCSI describe of /dev/rdsk/c25t9d0:
vendor: HP 36.4G
product id: ST336753FC
type: direct access
size: 70000000 Kbytes
bytes per sector: 520
Notice that the size is 70Gb and the bytest per secor is 520.
The other (normal) disks look like this:
SCSI describe of /dev/rdsk/c25t0d0:
vendor: HP 36.4G
product id: ST336752FC
type: direct access
size: 35566480 Kbytes
bytes per sector: 512

Re: DS2400 + 36GB Strangeness
What is the o/p of diskinfo -b
on both the devices ?
If this doesn't match :
I can only say that it has to do something with the disk formating.
Do you have any data on the disk ?
(problematic disk)
Somehow the disk Geometry is not getting read
properly it could be the disk problem also.
If possible i would try to see this info
just after i do pvcreate on the disk provided that there is no data on the disk.
And worst & the last case i would try mediainit which takes a hell lot of time &
we are not sure about the results also.
Regards,

Re: DS2400 + 36GB Strangeness
JBODfmt - format a disk mechanism with a 512-byte block length.
