Exchange 2003 / EVA 81000 Snapshot/Snapclone best practice
What's the best way to quiesce Exchange 2003 to ensure a healthy snapshot of the database when running a snapshot/snapclone against the LUN?

Re: Exchange 2003 / EVA 81000 Snapshot/Snapclone best practice
The VDS/VSS framework is used for this.
You can download the hardware providers here: http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/vdsvsshard/index.html?jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN
Install this software on your server, and then the Windows VDS/VSS (ie: windows snapshot) can make hardware snapshots on the EVA.
Windows snapshot knows to quiesce Exchange databases before the snapshot offurs and resume afterwards.
Good luck!
