may one of you is able to help me.
Have an EVA3K with FW 4.07. I have also upgraded the drives with the corresponding drive FW.
But when looking on the disk tab in command view I see the different FW releases (FW07, FW04) on the drives.
How can I see what FW the drives have. What happens if I add additional drive which have different FW.
Is there any table which I can see which drive FW a specific EVA FW must have.
Hope you can help me.
Regards
Michael

Otherwise - raise the issue with HP.. It is important all of your drives' firmware are at the same Rev.

The drive FW update didn't run on a failure.
What happens if a drive (new one e.g.) has a newer FW as the all the others.

SolutionThere are many different models of drives that can be used in an EVA, all of which can have different firmware revisions.
You can find the current matrix in the VCS4.007 release notes here:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00898514/c00898514.pdf
To see what firmware is on an individual drive simply click on it in Command View.
If you add a drive that has a firmware which is considered too old, then you'll get a warning message in the controller logs.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Rob

Re: How to check the disk firmware on an EVA drive ??
Also, for each model of disk (BDxxxxxxxx or BFxxxxxxxx) there are different firmwares. Your question says FW04/FW07, you might want to say HP04/HP07 this is the firmware.
Possibly run SSSU and log a case with HP to check for the latest firmware on disk drives.
My 2 cents worth.

Re: How to check the disk firmware on an EVA drive ??
hi Amardeep,
thanks much for your answers. Have read the documents and now understand why there are different FW on different drives.
Best regards
