I executed "auto dump" on XP12000/SVP, and gto the file "dump.tgz" as the result of that.
What I could do to open the dump.tgz file? I assume it should be viewed on Windows.
I transfered to unix server, and get all *.dmp files...

Solution
.tgz is a "GZipped" "Tape-ARchive".
".tar" is an archive but not compressed !therefore it's "GZipped"
I don't think standard windows can read this, but winzip or winrar can read ".tar" and ".gz" archives, mabe you need to extract twice.
beware when extracting all files !
unix makes a difference between something like a file "NAME" and a directory "name", but windows gets confused by this.
you may end up with only one file or directory called "name", "Name" or "NAME" but not both the file and the directory!!!
