HP Sas disks not spinning up in server.
Im trying to spin up some 1TB sas drives (specs below:)
1000 7200 SFF MM1000FBFVR 792249-001 792247-B21 792361-001 HP 1TB 6G SAS 7.2k 2.5
These are in a Dataon 1640D Jbod enclosure and the disk information is all visible under the server OS, the disks dont seem to want to spin up. All the checks I've performed seem to pull back lots of info about the drive but just won't activate it it seems.
My main query is whether these disks are using PWDIS or not? the chassis may be not set up for using that power down/spin up protocol setting and I need to know whether the srive itself (manufactured 01/2016) is using the option. this may be why the drive is not spinning up.
Thanks,
STu.

Re: HP Sas disks not spinning up in server.
Hello @ Krebsy
Thank you for your post.
Have you checked the compatibility of the drive with Dataon 1640D?
You can check the drive's Label for specs.
Also check for any tape etc on the pins.
Regards
