M6625 + HP 900GB, 10k (619291-B21)?
Hi,
looking at the M6625 disk array enclosure, the "HP 600GB 6G SAS 10K rpm SFF (2.5-inch) Dual Port Hard Drive (AW611A)" is the maximum for an available 10k disk. Well, we also have a "HP SFF Enterprise Drive 900GB, SAS 6Gb/s (619291-B21)" besides this, which is obviously a Seagate Savvio 10K.5 900GB drive.
So, I read the specification sheet and see no reason why this drive shouldn´t work in a M6625 drive? Perhaps someone knows more?

It is said that P6000 SAS disk drives have different firmware than ProLiant-branded disk drives. Maybe a 3rd-party drive 'works', but it is certainly 'unsupported' (means: if you've got a problem, you are on your own).

Are you serious with that different firmware?
My current EVA4400 has Seagate harddrives with a white HP label on it.
Once, I was looking for that harddrive firmware release on google. The firmware is standard on other systems, too. So, nothing special for anyone for that one...

I had this issue today and was given an answer by HP Storage Support.
"This drive is in testing phase for EVA products and they will update the info in product bulletin when this is completed"

The way I understand it is - for storage arrays you need to use spare number 730703-001
