MSA2324FC + MSA70
We have an MSA2324FC and we are wanting to add a single disk enclosure - an MSA70. We attach the MSA70 via a SAS lead and the disk enclosure is visible. All good so far.
# show enclosures
Encl Encl WWN Name Location Rack Pos Vendor Model EMP A BUS:ID Rev EMP B BUS:ID Rev
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 500C0FF0DAAC533C Enclosure 1 0 0 HP SPS-CHASSIS 0:31 1112 1:31 1112
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Encl Encl WWN Name Location Rack Pos Vendor Model EMP A BUS:ID Rev EMP B BUS:ID Rev
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5 5001438005A56100 Enclosure 5 0 0 HP MSA70 0:159 2.28 N/A
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The problems occur when we add more than one disk to the disk enclosure. When we telnet to the MSA controller and run show disks, all the disks are listed, including the ones added into the MSA70. When we run show enclosures, we get the following error:
# show enclosures
A critical error has occurred. The Management Controller will reset.
We can run these commands with 1 disk inserted without the management controller resetting.
Any advice would be appreciated.
We dont know if these logs are at all relevant or helpful:

SolutionHellor Sir,
As per the show enclosure output, the MSA70 Enclosure numbering is incorrect, I would suggest to rescan enclosure to fix the numbering issue, the try adding the drives and check the status.
1) Schedule a down time and make sure there is no IOPs from the host.
2) Run the rescan command from the CLI
#rescan
3) Restart the management controllers.
#restart mc both
4) Add the drives and check the status, ( pls wait for few minutes after adding the drives then run the show enclosure command)
5) If still the same issue, please Power Cycle the MSA and check the status.
6) If still the issue persist, then we might have to log a case with HPE Support for further troubleshooting on this.
Thanks&Regards,
