MSA30 question

I have an MSA 30 with twelve 72GB hard drives and itтАЩs connected to an rp3440-4 server via a 6400 series controller. The MSA30 came with 6 hard drives and six months later we purchased 6 more hard drives and added them to the MSA 30. It has come to our attention that we might have an incorrect serial number on one of the hard drives. Is there a way for me to find out what the serial numbers of the hard drives are without downing the server and taking out every hard drive?

Re: MSA30 question

"... might have an incorrect serial number on one of the hard drives...."

Why? Please explain!

Serial numbers are reported in "sautil", example:

# sautil /dev/ciss3

(get the device file from ioscan -fn)

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: MSA30 question

I am renewing my service contract and need to have these hard drives to be included. When I purchased the hard drives the invoice had the serial numbers which I gave to HP. This morning I was told that one of the serial numbers was wrong. When I did the sautil the serial numbers that are given there don├в t even come close to the serial numbers that I currently have.

What do you expect now by posting all the numbers to this public user to user forum?

If you have questions about your contracts ask hp support!

Hope this helps!

Well, I guess that I am not going to be given any help on this issue.

Thanks for nothing.
