Odd Disk Enclosure number on 'new' EVA 4400 shelf
Recently added a new shelf to an existing EVA4400 with one provisioned shelf and the 2nd shelf has configure ditself with Disk Enclosure number 13, and not 2. Why is this and how can this be edited in CV?

Re: Odd Disk Enclosure number on 'new' EVA 4400 shelf
As far as I know, the controller firmware only makes sure that the numbers are unique. The numbers can only be changed via the enclosure's maintenance port, but the command is not published, because it MUST NOT be used on an initialized EVA.

Re: Odd Disk Enclosure number on 'new' EVA 4400 shelf
Hello,
Uwe is correct.
In case the shelf you add had already a shelf number from a privious configuration and that number does not conflict with an existing shelfnumber in the system it will stay the way it is.
"New" shelf have shelf number "0" If you add a new shelf to an existing system it will modify the "0" to the lowest free number available.
Why do you want to changh this number 13
Superstitious?
Regards
Henk
