Record Now not reading "CD"

When I insert a CD, the window pops up for me to choose what to do. I choose "nothing" and then click in CD. It says insert CD!! It does make loud whirring noise.

I have hp pavilion a500y window XP.

I would check to see if data is already on that CD. Next, check the version of Record Now and/or the driver for the CD Rom. If all else fails use the burning software built into Windows. ( I can't believe I just said that!) Hope that helps!

I checked the data, it's there. I tested out the same one on my work MAC. It theres.
I'll check the version and warranty at home.
