VA7400 and Non-native hosts.
Hi All,
I have a VA7400 connected to an fc entry switch 8b and managed by a L class running CmdView from where I am trying to connect a Sun E450 via a Sun x6799A PCI SINGLE Fibre Channel Network Adapter. I know my fc card is working as I've connected it directly to the disk fc port on the array. I am not, however, able to see any LUN's on the array from the Sun end. The current firmware version of the controllers is Hp16.
HP have told me that the Sun X6799A is not supported but that it should work. Has anyone managed to get such a card working with the array? Or does anyone have any ideas as to how I might get some succes? Is there anything additional I need to do on the switch?
Thanks
Dom

Re: VA7400 and Non-native hosts.
Check the specs on the Sun card - many of the Sun cards are FC-AL only. If your switch and VA are in Fabric Mode, this could be your problem.
Good luck!
Good luck!
No matter where you go, there you are.

Re: VA7400 and Non-native hosts.
Did you configure the host port hehavior for the IP address of the SUN system? See armhost in Command View.

Re: VA7400 and Non-native hosts.
WWN not IP address. Also, if enabled, is Secure Manager configured correctly?
