1 TB SAS HP MB1000FAMYU
Would anyone know where to find more detailed specifications for the HDD mentioned in the subject line?
What I would like to know in particular:
When where these drives manufactured (year)?
How do they compare to typcial 1 TB SATA drives regarding noise and vibration?
I'm planning to use 4 such drives in a Mac Pro with a SATA/SAS controller (Areca 1212) and have good offer.
Thanks!

Re: 1 TB SAS HP MB1000FAMYU
I was not able to find any appropriate technical info regarding the drive, but just listenting to it, it seems to operate just as quiet as any other 1 TB SATA drive. It also does not produce any unusual vibration or access noise. I was reading somewhere that HP does not produce HDD's, so the drive might actually be Seagate. Disk benchmarks show it's average performance is 135 MB/s, which is 20 % better than my fastest SATA. Btw, the SAS drive will fit into the existing drive slots of a Mac Pro, but you need to install a SAS controller, such as the Apple RAID card or other 3rd party vendor.
