Computer storage problems? Hard disk...

A few months ago I became aware of my defected hard drive. I then purchased a new one and had it installed and all of that. I am running an HP 9600 700 MHZ with 128 MB Ram. I am using Windows 2000. After a few weeks of succesful usage with my new hard drive, this morning I wake up to find out my computer does not BOOT at all(Same problem the first time) I usually leave my computer running all night, so I found it odd that it was off in the first place. Then when it doesnt boot up again I got really frustrated. Anyone have any ideas what it could be? Please reply...thank you! or email if you think you can help: eyedolies@yahoo.com

One thing springs readily to mind. If you are utilising service pack 3 on your Windows 2000 machine, not all disk manufacturers are yet to support it. Doing this type upgrade beforehand can cause unpredictable results, to your operating system and hardware.

Hmm, I believe I had that installed on there. Crap! Is there anyway to go about uninstalling this? I have a 120GB Wester Digital 5400RPM; if that proves your theory correct. How can I fix this without a hefty bill? Thanks.
