Could someone tell me whether I can use this drive outside a Proliant system ?
HP 36.4GB SCSI Hot Plug Hard Disk Drive 15000 RPM
WIDE ULTRA320 SCSI
Model NO: BF03685A35
Are certain HP/Compaq drives only compatible within Compaq/HP servers?

Re: Could someone tell me whether I can use this drive outside a Proliant system ?
Sorry if it seems stupid, i'm new to SCSI systems.
I heard that Compaq drives are actually manufactured by Seagate, just have slightly different firmware, is this true ?
Also, i've tried in vain to find out how much cache that drive has. Why is there no cache specs on HP/Compaq drives anywhere on the net ? (at least I can't find them). Thanks much in advance.
