Re: Disk firmware upgrade
Is the disk connected to a unix server ? if so all you have to do is the follwing:
1. copy the frm file to /var/tmp directory.
2. run STM (online diagnostic), make sure it is version A.42 or above.
3.highlight the disk you wan to upgrade
4. pick the tool menue --> Firmware upgrade
5. after prompted pick the right firmware and finish the upgrade.

Re: Disk firmware upgrade
I've been able to install STM version A.44 but it does not allow me to upgrade the firmware because it says .frm file is corrupt...
As long as I've downloaded it from HP's site, what do you believe I should do?

Re: Disk firmware upgrade
Some more information:
Firmware Update Tool for device SCSI Disk on path 0/0/1/1.0.0.
Current firmware revision on device: HP01
The firmware will be updated from file: /var/tmp/PF_MDSEACH3HP04.frm
The new firmware revision will be:
Select "OK" to proceed with the update.
Shouldn't it state the new firmware revision?
At the prompt:
# file PF_MDSEACH3HP04.frm
PF_MDSEACH3HP04.frm: lif file

Re: Disk firmware upgrade
I will try to download again and if that does not work, in the download process, you can download a bundle of disk firmware to a tape, boot from the tape and it will automaticly upgrade all disks that are on the system. that option is less sensetive as the STM optin.
