Mem problems since Maxtor install - Pavilion 8570C
I hope someone is able to offer some pointers on this one!
I have a Pavilion 8570C (Win98, Bios v1.12-4/28/99, 96Mb RAM, Intel 440ZX m/b, Quantum Bigfoot TS 19.2Gb Hard drive, Intel PIII)
I just installed a Maxtor Ultra ATA/100 PCI card AND a Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 7200rpm 30GB Hard drive.
I placed the Quantum as the primary master and the Maxtor as the primary slave off the ATA/100 card. Both drives work fine!
However, after the first boot, I keep getting a startup error "EMM not load, can't load start frame page" (or something like that!) and the multimedia keyboard driver doesn't load because of some memory conflict!
I guess I'm gonna have to change the default memory address for the ATA/100 pci card, but it'd sure help if someone can set me straight on the best memory start address!
Anyone any clues?
cheers
Chris
