Problem with 9Gb 10k U3 (IBM) drives.
Problem with 9Gb 10k U3 (IBM) drives.
System BIOS date: 11/08/2000
Integrated Smart Array Controller Rev. 1.44
Integrated Smart Array Controller error:
1721 ? Slot 0 Drive Array ? Drive Parameter Tracking Predicts Imminent Failure ?
The following drives should be replaced when conditions permit:
SCSI port 2, drive ID?s 0,1
Compaq Diagnostics Ver. S10.30B error:
-Compaq Smart Array controller test
-Drive monitoring diagnostics test
Error 1736-20
Drive Controller 1, (Slot 1),Hard Drive 1 ? SCSI Bus 1, Drive ID7
Failed Drive Monitoring test.
Drive monitoring parameter reallocated sectors exceeded threshold. Parameter is currently failing.
After Continue:
Error 1736-20
Drive Controller 1, (Slot 1),Hard Drive 1 ? SCSI Bus 1, Drive ID8
Failed Drive Monitoring test.
Drive monitoring parameter reallocated sectors exceeded threshold. Parameter is currently failing.
The drives are placed in slot 0 and 1, so their ID?s should be according to these slots 0 and 1.
The Compaq supportdesk asked me to update the drive firmware?s using the Options Rompaq V2.62.
But this Options Rompaq didn?t recognize my drives. The Rompaq is dated sept 2000, the drives are dated nov 2000. So I didn?t expect anything from this solution.
The drives are IBM DDYS-T09170 with firmware BC1P.
Anyone with a solution for this?

Re: Problem with 9Gb 10k U3 (IBM) drives.
Forgot to mention,
The system is a DL380, and I've tried the system with other disks, working OK. And tried the drives in another system, same problem.
