Setting the SCSI ID

I just purchased some additional drives from the HP spare parts store. Need some help setting the SCSI ID for a 4.3g 10k Ultra SCSI drive. Can someone either tell me how to do this, or lead me to where I can find documentation on how to do this? Thanks ... Gerald

Re: Setting the SCSI ID

What is the part number for the drives you have? Are they hot swapable or not? What machine do they go in?

You can possibly find information at the following link: http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/proliantstorage/drives-enclosures/index.html

The part number is 336383-001.
This drive will be going into an AP500 450 MHz machine.

Re: Setting the SCSI ID

Gerald,

Here is a link to a picture of the drive you are talking about. http://partsurfer.hp.com/cgi-bin/spi/showphoto?partnumber=336383-001

When I look at the picture and from experience with other scsi drives, it appears to me that there should be, on the drive label, some information about how to set the scsi id. There should either be some jumpers on the end by the scsi connector or on the bottom circut board. I have not been able to find any documentation for the drive, but I did find this on partsurfer.hp.com. I also found a link that has manuals, parts information and the likes for your workstation. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Home.jsp?locale=en_US&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=96462〈=en&cc=us

I hope some of this helps.
