Ultra ATA 66 or ATA/100 or ATA/133
Hello,
Maybe it's a stupid question .but ...
I have a Compaq deskpro ex series PC with hdd 20GB Ultra ATA/66 and I want to buy 40GB,but in our store there aren't Ultra ATA/66.If I buy a 40GHz ATA/100 hdd,will it be everything OK.I awared about other kinds of problems?

According to the technical reference guide for the Deskpro EX (ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/supportinformation/techpubs/technical_reference_guides/137h-0800a-wwen.pdf), this model uses the original Intel 815 chipset which does not support ATA100.
So don't buy the hard drive unless you also purcahse an extra IDE hard drive controller.
