Write and Verify feature

Hi.

Is the Write and Verify feature enabled by default on HP SAS drives and if not, how does the drive check that it wrote data correctly?

Thanks for your time.

Re: Write and Verify feature

I was unable to find such thing as a feature for HP SAS Drives. However, I am intrigue to know how does it happen if its done on a hardware level. As far as my understanding goes, IOPS are written to the disks and Ack is sent to the Server as a part of Syn - Ack.

I read through below links but couldn't find anything related to this query though:

Re: Write and Verify feature

All LTO (Ultrium) based tape drives have a Verify-as-they-write feature meaning that you no longer have to run the verify option on your backup jobs, but I've never heard of the same thing with HDDs...
