Forum down on 07-13, why?

I was unable to connect to the EBC forum on 07-13 for most of the day.

 

Does anyone know why?  I don't remember any notices.  And later I saw closed for maintenance.

But most of the day my browser couldn't find the server.

We do not yet know what caused the outage, but are investigating.

We have received information that an authentication server was having a cache issue, which prevented it from triggering a normal failover. The problem was solved in short order.
