Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree
Filip,
Could you let us know what you don't like about the community? Much has been said in this forum , but would appreciate it if you could let us know what you don't like or can't find. We are collecting feedback and then we can evaluate to see what we can do. The community is not the same as the new Support Center, so if you could provide feedback on the community we would appreciate it.

If you migrated from the ITRC forum, you could have your spaces.

Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree
gigiz - it sounds like you're having problems with the HP Support Center, specifically accessing patches?
If that's the case, you'll want to log a ticket with the people who support that portal, @ http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/public/help/contactHP/questions
Have you already completed the migration process from http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/aae/itrc/migrate? If you haven't done that yet, that may be the root of the problem.

Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree
It's amazing to see this BIG FAIL from HP, I don't know why HP decide to migrate to this new forum, but is a mistake.
Now, you don't have a clue where the old categories are placed.
Now, you don't recieve an email when you post a thread or when you have a response.
Now, you can't get access to post from the old ITRC.
really is amazing.

Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree
Hi,
You can find the layout of the ITRC forms in the necessary categories, if you look at the first post in this thread you will see a layout of the forums.
You can set notification to receive an email from a thread, or board perspective, Once you are in a board or post you can select options and then “subscribe” to receive an email or you can select subscribe to RSS feeds to receive RSS feeds.
In your profile ( top right hand side on the page) you can define when you wish to receive an email (immediately (default) daily or weekly). Once in your profile go to "Subscriptions and Bookmarks" and in here you have specific options.
Regarding the problems related to some ITRC threads see http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Announcements/An-update-on-the-ITRC-forums-migration/td-p/4818981
If you have any other issues please let me know, perhaps I can help you.

Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree
I am completely frustrated and upset at the inability to FIND ANYTHING on the new format for the forums. Your new website is basically USELESS. By not providing direct links between the previous ITRC Forums and all its contents, you have basically locked us out of finding anything. Links from the web should go directly to the already-existing content. What was once a very useful tool for getting help on HP products and services... is now useless. BTW, using the "New Forums Location by ITRC Tree" does nothing for helping you link to useful finds on Google. Can't find a thing.
Bad, bad, bad transition, guys. HP SIM is now even MORE DIFFICULT to troubleshoot and find out anything about.

I do not know why people always have the need to change something that was working very well.
Please hurry the process to display google results on the new HP community!!!.

Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree
I am in favor of something changing, a roll back may be impossible (well not impossible, but HP's arrogance about shoving Lithium down our throats seems unwavering).
I would like to see a simple, professional forum that honors the old URL's, in an uncluttered manner. Preferably one that accurately reflects the years worth of contributions that so many have made.

Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree
I cannot find what I am looking for. So I do a search in this ITRC Tree and I do not get any results for what I do get results from through google.com. I have read the redirect announcement over and over again and am lost in how to accomplish this. Not only is this not working for me but the HP Support portal is not showing my SAID's when routed to the software downloads.
I am so surprised on how tragic this migration to the new HP web frontend is affecting me to the point of skewing my project timelines. I am more importantly disappointed in endorsing HP products and services when supporting them has been hobbled. Seriously.

When using google, do you add: ... site:http://h30499.www3.hp.com
What were you looking for? Have you seen this topic?
>I have read the redirect announcement over and over again and am lost in how to accomplish this.
Do you have an example what you are looking for?
>but the HP Support portal is not showing my SAIDs when routed to the software downloads.
Have you seen the link about migrating your SAIDs?

Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree
I'm afraid I can't help but finding the "new" solution a measure for nothing. The bare minimum for a clean move would at least keep the original ITRC links alive and redirect to the new location - heck, with a big warning to update your links, if needed. Doesn't sound like this move has been thought through at all.

Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree
Lennert,
Are your ITRC links not working? Which ones are not working? Could you send me a list and I will check to see what is going on.
Greetings,
Bill

Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree
Google was better at searching the old forums the forum search engine. Now, it all seems to have disappeared. My guess is no one bothered to test this, determine what the impact to users would be, and find a way to mitigate.
With all the expertise at HP, it seems like someone would be able to redirect the links from google and translate to access the same information in its new location.

Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree
I 100% agree. If HP had a decent search engine, then maybe this would work. Also - who doesn’t use Google to troubleshoot problems? Why would HP take away that ability? Just one more reason to purchase from a different vendor, thanks for making my decisions easy!

Re: New Forum Locations by ITRC Tree
You can still use google to search the forums, it's just a question of knowing how google works.
Try adding "site:http://h30499.www3.hp.com" until the old links vanished from Google cache and you have the same results as before.
