DEC 3000 Model 600

I have a DEC 3000 Model 600 and it has only one SCSI controller card in it. It has two blank slots for more SCSI controller cards. What is the type/model SCSI controller card(s) that I need?

Hi,

A quick Google threw up this site:

http://www.phys.ufl.edu/~prescott/linux/alpha/dec3000-sysinfo.html#600

The PostScript document there, suggests that you probably want either:

PMAZC-AA Dual Fast SCSI-2 Option Card
or
KZTSA-AA Fast Wide Differential SCSI-2 Option Card.

Good luck...

Re: DEC 3000 Model 600

Hi,

It depends on the type of SCSI devices you're connecting to. Most modern devices would be Single Ended (LVD) for which you'd need the PMAZC-AA.

However as this machine is getting on for 14 years old, I wouldn't like to guess as to what you're going to connect to it !!

The owner's guide here:

might also be of use.

Cheers,

Rob,

Thank You

I plan on putting more old devices. 8mm tape drives and SCSI hard drives. So do you think that I would be better off getting a PMAZC-AA
