Fiber channel link failures/loss of signal
Are the following figures normal for a fiber channel HBA?
Loss of signal 833653
Bad Rx Char 0
Loss of Sync 0

Needless to ask I am sure but have you got the hardware at the other end of the fiberoptic (FO) cable checked hardware-wise ? Or did you verify the integrity of the FO cable itself ? This sounds like a hardware related failure to me.

I would also check how the fiber cable goes. Radius of bend is recommended at least 3 cm.
