need to obtain WWN of Tachyon 5112A HBA on Win2K
Hello,
as the subject suggests I need to know the WWN of my Tachyon HBA. Frankly I can't believe this would be so difficult but I'm stuck with this card for now.
I read the readme and it suggested increasing the debug level. I did and while it increased the number of events it did not contain the WWN.
How do I do this? My adapter has a sticker which says VSI: 000042DB6 if that's meaningful.
Thanks!
Sander

Re: need to obtain WWN of Tachyon 5112A HBA on Win2K
Hi Sander,
You're half way 000042DB6 is the last part of the WWN, normally HP uses 50060B0 as the vendor identifier (at least this is true for the 8602A FC-card), so you're WWN will probably be 50060B0000042DB6.
If you're system is connect to a FC-switch login to the switch (with either telnet or a Webbrowser) and look at the port info you're system is connected to, it will show you the WWN name as well.
Regards,
Mark

Re: need to obtain WWN of Tachyon 5112A HBA on Win2K
Hi Mark,
thanks for your reply. Indeed that is my WWN. I got my hands on a little utility that determines the WWN and it matches the one that you suggested.
Using a switch to determine the WWN wasn't an option since I don't have one available yet. We're doing point to point connections for now.
Thanks for your help,
Sander
